Story
Koti, a deaf-and-mute man, lives in Kanyakumari with his sister Devi, earning a living through odd jobs. Orphaned during the catastrophic 2004 Tsunami that devastated South India, the siblings were rescued and given shelter by a compassionate local church priest. Despite his disability, Koti harbors a strong sense of justice, particularly against violence targeting women. His response to such injustices often involves using his physical strength, which frequently lands him in trouble.
Tina, a cheerful local guide, has nurtured a childhood crush on Koti, but he remains aloof to her affections. Undeterred, Tina teases Koti playfully, prompting physical outbursts from him, yet she persists. Though Tina’s parents disapprove of her feelings, she ignores their concerns. When Tina helps Koti shut down a wine shop near the church, he begins to warm up to her. With support from Tina and Devi, Koti secures a job as a security guard and helper at Mira Orphanage, run by Saradha Devi. There, Koti forms strong bonds with the children, especially the visually impaired teenage girls.
One day, Koti discovers that three workers have been exploiting the girls’ blindness to spy on them while they bathe. Enraged, he brutally kills two of the men and voluntarily surrenders to the police. This shocks Devi, who detests his resort to violence. During the trial, Koti refuses to reveal his motive for the murders, angering the judge, who orders his immediate imprisonment and a deeper investigation led by Special Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kathiravan. Kathiravan’s attempts to uncover Koti’s motive, including a narco-analysis test, prove futile as Koti remains resolute. The psychiatrist warns that increasing the sedative dosage could endanger Koti’s life, leaving the investigation at a standstill.
Without sufficient evidence, Koti is released on bail. Obsessed with avenging the girls, he begins hunting the third perpetrator who had escaped. Frustrated by Koti's fixation on violence, Devi struggles to keep him grounded. Meanwhile, Kathiravan learns that Devi is not Koti’s biological sister and uses this to emotionally manipulate her into extracting the truth. However, Koti remains silent, fearing that revealing the truth would harm the dignity of the orphanage girls. Eventually, Koti locates the third perpetrator and kills him in a brutal act of vengeance, castrating the man before ending his life. The gruesome killing shocks the public, as it is committed by someone already out on bail for two previous murders.
Reviewing the narco-analysis recordings, Kathiravan discovers that the three men Koti killed had indeed been abusing the visually impaired girls. He secretly arranges for the girls to testify in court, and the judge, now aware of the full circumstances, acquits Koti, citing insufficient evidence for conviction. The orphanage residents and local community celebrate Koti’s release, but the victory is bittersweet. Unaware of the full truth and fearing that Koti might face the death penalty, Devi takes her own life. Her tragic decision shatters Koti, leaving him to grapple with the consequences of his actions and the loss of the person he cherished most.
